Freshmen Shine, Eagles Rack Up PRs and Wins at Georgia Southern Relays

STATESBORO – Behind standout freshman performances, multiple personal records and a collection of event victories, the Eagles turned in a strong all-around showing at the Georgia Southern Relays, highlighted by all-time marks from Madison Linscomb and Rebecca Stratton and a dominant closing day across the track and field events.
Day One
Freshmen Linscomb and Stratton headlined the opening day of the Georgia Southern Relays, each delivering all-time performances.
Linscomb clocked a 1:02.64 in the 400m hurdles, moving into eighth place in program history, while Stratton's 40:41.22 in the 10,000m ranks ninth all-time.
Katie Casto represented the Eagles in the 3,000m steeplechase, finishing in 12:16.63.
In the 200m, Emani George led the squad with a podium finish in 25.13. She was followed closely by Montse Rodriguez (25.16), Aaliyah Barnes (25.19), and Trinity Lavant (26.41).
In the long jump, Kennedy Hood and Greta Caprathe each recorded marks of 5.46m to place fourth and fifth, respectively, while Lavant added a sixth-place finish at 5.31m.
Day Two
Personal records from Madison Linscomb, Aaliyah Barnes, and Cameron Belcher highlighted a strong day for the Eagles.
In the 5,000m, Tristen Crosby (18:49.77) and Lauren Voutour (19:39.49) led the way with first- and second-place finishes.
The 4x100m relay team combined for a 47.17.
Linscomb paced a dominant sweep in the hurdles, taking first with a personal-best 14.33, followed by Solomon in second (14.63) and Caldwell in third (14.70).
In the middle distances, Zya Gibbs claimed gold in the 800m with a 2:18.79, while Jayla Daise took top honors in the 400m at 59.24.
The Eagles swept the top four spots in the 100m, led by Kennedy Hood's winning time of 12.04. Barnes followed closely with a personal-best 12.05 for second, George placed third in 12.10, and Montse Rodriguez finished fourth in 12.27.
In the 1500m, Cameron Belcher earned a silver medal with a personal-record time of 4:51.93.
Greta Caprathe matched her personal best of 1.65m to win the high jump.
In the triple jump, Jailah Lee led the Eagles with a mark of 12.17m, narrowly ahead of Alexandria Kennedy (12.16m), while Trinity Lavant added an 11.32m effort.
The 4x400m relay team of Belcher, Katie Casto, Voutour and Crosby closed out the meet with a time of 4:21.72.
