
GS Women’s Soccer Falls to Stetson in Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA - The Georgia Southern women's soccer team ended their three-game winning streak with a 4-1 loss against Stetson Thursday night.
A strong Stetson offense powered through all game making it difficult for Georgia Southern to keep the ball out of Eagle territory.
The first goal of the game was in the 25th minute by Stetson's Maggie Struble.
Georgia Southern responded eight minutes later in the 33rd minute with a goal by Frida Brattum. She was assisted by Maddie Klintworth.
Georgia Southern struggled to keep up with the Stetson offense who went on to score three more times in the game. The 51st minute held a goal by Sydney McKee. Struble again scored in the 62nd minute and completed the hat trick in the 71st.
The Georgia Southern goal marked Brattum's fifth goal of the year, tying her career high from the 2017 season. She has scored more goals than any player did during the 2018 season where three players had three goals each.

The Eagles are on the road for the next two games. Georgia Southern will travel to Davidson, NC to play Davidson at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 8.
