- Georgia Southern welcomes Georgia Tech to town for the 2019 Home Opener on Jack Stallings Field at J.I. Clements Stadium. The Eagles enter the midweek contest coming off back-to-back 13-inning games and send junior Joe Nahas to the mound to make his first Division I start.
- Georgia Southern went to extra innings for the second-straight game on Sunday. The Eagles dropped a 4-3 decision to the No. 15 Auburn Tigers in the series finale, going 13 innings with the Tigers for the second time in 24 hours.
- The Eagles are 31-102 all-time against the Yellow Jackets and look to snap a nine-game skid against the Institute. The last win for the Eagles came on Feb. 19, 2014 when the Eagles took a 4-3 win in Statesboro in front of 3,213 fans. Georgia Southern dropped a 7-1 game last year in Statesboro and a 3-1 decision in Midtown.
- The Eagles opened the 2019 season with 35 innings of play against No. 15 Auburn. The three games took more than 12 hours to play, clocking in at a total of 12:11. Friday's game, an 11-2 loss, was the quickest of the three at a brisk 3:15.
- Saturday's win over Auburn came thanks to a 13th inning bomb of a home run off the bat of Noah Ledford. The freshman crushed his first collegiate long ball an estimated 430 feet to the gap in right. The home run was the first for an Eagle in extra innings since March 8, 2008 when Matt Miller hit a 10th inning bomb to walk it off against Pittsburgh in a tournament in Greenville, N.C.
- Last weekend's twin 13 inning games was a first for the Eagles in recorded history. The Eagles played back-to-back 13 inning contests for the first time in school history.
