Quickly: In the first of two soccer matches played Friday at Eagle Field, the Georgia Southern women's soccer team hosts the Stetson Hatters. The Eagles are coming off of a split weekend where they defeated Jacksonville State Friday at home 1-0, before falling to Gardner-Webb 3-0 on the road. The Blue and White currently lead the series 4-2-0, making this the seventh meeting between the two programs. This will only be the third time that these two teams have played inside the friendly confies of Eagle Field and the first meeting since 2013.

Quickly: The Eagles (0-3) open their second weekend of the season against Arkansas (1-1) in the Diet Coke Classic, hosted by Minnesota. It's the first meeting between the Razorbacks and Eagles. GS went 0-3 at the WVU Invite last weekend but took a set against host West Virginia and suffered consecutive five-set losses to Wright State and UConn.  
Lauren Reichard, who posted a career-high 10 blocks to go along with seven kills against Wright State, was named all-tournament.

Quickly: Georgia Southern went 1-0-1 in its season-opening trip to Virginia last weekend, notching a 2-0 win over Virginia Commonwealth and a 2-2 draw with Old Dominion. 
Javier Carbonell scored twice in a 3 1/2 minute span to help the Eagles overcome a 2-0 deficit in the final 14 minutes of regulation against the Monarchs. Friday, the Eagles will open up its home slate by hosting North Florida (0-2). The two teams met last year in Jacksonville, with Georgia Southern taking a 2-1 win.

Quickly: Georgia Southern will open the 2018 Cross Country schedule with a trip to the Carolina Challenge in Columbia, South Carolina. After missing the event in 2017, the Eagles will return to Columbia to open the season with the 5K race at the Sandhill Research and Education Center on Columbia's Northside (

Quickly: The Eagles continue action at the Diet Coke Classic in Minnesota by taking on the host and third-ranked Golden Gophers and North Dakota State. It's the first meeting for the Eagles against Minnesota, and GS owns a 1-0 mark vs. North Dakota State with the lone meeting coming in Hanner Fieldhouse in 2013. Following Saturday's contest, GS plays its home open opener against North Florida at Alumni Arena on the Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, and the game will be the first official Georgia Southern athletics contest on the GS Armstrong Campus since the consolidation.

Quickly: In part two of the short two game home stand, the Eagles will host long time SoCon opponent Davidson. The Wildcats currently lead the series 20-8-1 and enter the weekend with a 2-2-0 record. They will being their road trip Friday with a meeting against Mercer, before traveling to Statesboro to take on the Eagles.
