- The Eagles pounded out a season-high 15 hits in a 10-7 win over Texas State to take the weekend series. Golden, Swan and Avant each had three-hit games as the Eagles went above .500 to close the month of April.
- The Eagles won their first weekend series over Troy last season, improving to 4-10 in the all-time series between the clubs. The Trojans make their second trip to Statesboro where the Eagles dropped a series in 2016, two games to one.
- Through the season's first 43 games, Georgia Southern batters have been hit by 68 pitches to lead the Sun Belt and rank 25th in the nation. Steven Curry has been hit 19 times to rank fourth in the nation and tops in the Sun Belt while Christian Avant has worn 13 pitches to rank third in the league and 43rd in Division I.

Overall, eight of Georgia Southern's 18 home runs have been of the leadoff variety with McWhorter accounting for four of them.
- After sustaining an injury in the second game of the season, Tyler Martin missed the next 33 games. He made his return on April 17th against the College of Charleston. He hit his first home run of the season on Saturday, April 21st with a solo home run to left.
