WEEKEND PREVIEW - Baseball Visits Texas State for Weekend Series

Georgia Southern returns to the Longhorn State for the first time since the 2016 Sun Belt Tournament

STATESBORO - Georgia Southern Baseball is "Deep in the Heart of Texas" this weekend for a three game series with Texas State. The Eagles visit Bobcat Ballpark for the first time in the regular season since 2015 look for their first series win over Texas State since entering the Sun Belt. First pitch on Friday evening Is set for 6 p.m. (CT) / 7 p.m. (ET).

Georgia Southern got back to the .500 mark on Tuesday afternoon with a win over College of Charleston. The Eagles sit fourth in the East Division with a 10-7 record, 3.5 games behind Coastal Carolina for first place and a half game behind Troy for third. If the season ended today, Georgia Southern would be the No. 5 seed for the Sun Belt Tournament.

- Georgia Southern Baseball looks for its second-straight league series win this weekend as the Eagles visit Texas State for the first time since 2015. The Eagles are 1-2 against the Bobcats all-time in San Marcos, but hold a 4-3 record at Bobcat Ballpark with a 3-1 trip to the 2016 Sun Belt Championship Game.
- The Eagles got three hits from Mason McWhorter, on Tuesday afternoon, scoring five runs off 13 total hits to take a 5-4 win over College of Charleston to take the three-game non-conference series in 2018.
- Georgia Southern trails 2-5 all-time against the Bobcats, dropping both series since the Eagles joined the Sun Belt before the 2015 season. The Eagles defeated the Bobcats in the last meeting, an 11-5 win on May 27, 2017 in the Sun Belt Tournament.
