
Talon-Ted Award Winners For February Announced

Honor given out by Student-Athlete Services
Each month, the Georgia Southern Student-Athlete Services Department hands out its Talon-Ted Award, which recognizes students who are working just as hard in the classroom as they are on the field of competition. The male winner for the month of February is Noah Searcy of the baseball and the female winner is Rhein Beamon of the women's basketball. Let's get to know each of these student-athletes!
Noah Searcy
Noah Searcy is a freshmen baseball player from Jacksonville, Florida. He is majoring in criminal justice and hopes to play Major League Baseball after graduating from Georgia Southern. Noah hit a home run in his first ever collegiate at-bat against the University of Georgia.
Favorite place to eat?
Noah's favorite place to eat is Cruisers Grill in Jacksonville.
Gameday ritual?
His pre-game ritual includes listening to Drake all day to get ready for the game.
What keeps you motivated academically?
He stays academically motivated by knowing that when it is all over with, the hard work that he did will pay off because he made the grades he wanted.
Rhein Beamon
Rhein Beamon is senior in the classroom (redshirt junior athletically) from Stone Mountain, Georgia, who is a member of the women's basketball program here at Georgia Southern. She is an exercise science major who wishes to pursue physician assistant school after college.
Favorite place to eat?
Her favorite place to eat in Statesboro is ShoGun.
Game day ritual?
Her game day ritual listening to slow jam music for relaxation and untwisting her hair.
What keeps you motivated academically?
Rhein stays motivated in the classroom so she can reach her goal of graduating early with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
