Meet The Eagles With: Charlotte Van Diemen

Get to know more about Charlotte Van Diemen
STATESBORO, Ga. – Over the next week and a half we meet each of Eagles on the women's tennis team and learn a little bit more about each of the ladies. Next up is freshman Charlotte van Diemen from Berkel and Rodenrijs, South Holland. The freshman, alongside of current Eagles player Arianne de Winter, dominated The Netherlands tournaments as doubles partners winning three straight titles on separate weekends.
What do you enjoy most about playing tennis?
What I enjoy most about playing tennis is that I can put everything on the side and just focus on and play the sport that I love.
What age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing at the age of six.
When/why did you decide tennis was going to be your sport you concentrated on?
When I was around 11 years old I saw that I was winning more and doing better with tennis than with other sports. I also liked tennis more than other sports, maybe winning and joy were related, but that is why I chose to focus on tennis.
What are you most looking forward to about the upcoming season?
That I get to play a lot of matches and that way I can improve my game a lot.
Who has had the greatest influence on your game?
I think my coach back home has had the greatest influence on my game. He taught me almost everything I know now.
If you could meet anyone, past or present, who would it be?
Dominika Cibulkova, I'm a big fan of her and her game is similar to mine. I would love to hear her story and how she has become this good.
What do most people not know about you?
That I can also play with my left hand. I normally play with my right.
