The Eagles remain on the road this weekend as they make the Texas swing in league play. GS plays Texas State Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET and meets UTA Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Georgia Southern is in a stretch in which the Eagles play 10 of 12 on the road. GS plays four of its final five matches in Hanner Fieldhouse, starting Nov. 2, against Coastal Carolina.
The Eagles are searching for their first win against both Texas State and UTA, and GS is 0-2 on the road against both schools. These are the only meetings against Texas State and UTA this season. Both squads traveled to Statesboro last year with Texas State topping GS 3-0 and UTA winning 3-1 in Hanner Fieldhouse.
Texas State is second in the West Division with a 6-1 record, and UTA is fifth with a 2-5 mark. Georgia Southern is third in the East with a 3-5 record.
Georgia Southern is coming off a 3-0 loss at North Florida Monday. Texas State topped UTA 3-0 in the last match for both schools, and UTA plays Georgia State Friday.
Cathrine Murray has 933 kills and is 59 away from cracking the top-10 on the school's career chart. The senior also has 734 digs and 105 blocks.
Classmate Anna Wenger has 680 career kills, and Megan Chevalier has 732.
Lauren Reichard has 579 career kills and 314 blocks. The junior ranks eighth on the school's career block list.
Georgia Southern had four matches canceled or postponed because of Hurricane Irma. GS has already made up two of those matches and will make up a third when Savannah State visits Hanner Fieldhosue Nov. 6 for a 6:30 p.m. match.
