CONWAY, S.C. — Georgia Southern defeated Coastal Carolina 3-0 (30-28, 25-16, 25-21) on Friday. The Eagles finished with 51 kills and a .257 hitting percentage while holding Coastal Carolina to 39 kills and .156.

The sweep over the Chanticleers on Friday was the first 3-0 sweep on the road in Conway for the Eagles under head coach Chad Willis and extends their winning streak over Coastal Carolina to three matches, and five consecutive this season, the longest of the 2026 campaign.

Reagan Barth led the Eagles with 16 kills and 20.0 points while adding 13 digs and five blocks. Maddie Cugino collected a team-high 20 digs and added six assists. Alex Myers hit .571 with nine kills, five blocks and one service ace. Lexi Duffy finished with a team-high 23 assists and three digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- After the teams split the first six points, the Eagles won seven of the next eight, getting kills from Sam Bowron, Gabby Babinski, Reagan Barth and Alex Myers to move ahead 10-4.
- Coastal Carolina used a four-point stretch to cut the margin to 13-10, but the Eagles kept separation with blocks involving Sam Bowron, Kayla Knowles, Beka Pfefferkorn and Alex Myers and later led 18-12.
- Coastal Carolina continued to close late and tied the set at 24-24 on consecutive Anna Rita kills after a Sam Bowron kill had put the Eagles at 24-22.
- The teams traded points through 28-28 before Reagan Barth put the Eagles ahead with a kill from Mayte Camacho and finished the set with another kill from Lexi Duffy for a 30-28 win.

Second Set
- Pfefferkorn opened the set with a kill, and Sam Bowron, Reagan Barth and Gabby Babinski added early kills as the Eagles moved ahead 5-2.
- The Eagles kept building at the net, using blocks involving Alex Myers, Barth, Kayla Knowles and Pfefferkorn, plus kills from Myers, Barth, Babinski and Knowles, to reach 14-6.
- Coastal Carolina cut the margin to 17-13, but the Eagles answered from there, including four straight service points with Mayte Camacho serving, and Barth closed the 25-16 set win with a kill from Lexi Duffy.

Third Set
- The teams traded points early before Coastal Carolina moved ahead 8-7.
- The Eagles answered with seven straight points, including four kills from Sam Bowron, two from Pfefferkorn and one from Alex Myers, to move in front 14-8.
- The Eagles pushed the lead to 17-9 before Coastal Carolina used a three-point stretch to cut it to 17-12.
- The Eagles moved back ahead 23-16 on kills from Reagan Barth and Pfefferkorn, then held off a late Coastal Carolina push before Bowron closed the set at 25-21.

Chad Willis credited the Eagles' road win at Coastal Carolina to a broad team effort, saying, "Great job tonight all around, just a collective team win." Willis pointed to the team's preparation, serving and rally extension, adding that the Eagles "stayed the course after set one" and now face a "quick turnaround" before playing again Saturday.
