GS opens a five-match road trip at North Florida Monday at 7 p.m., and the contest will be broadcast live on ESPN3. It's the second meeting between the Eagles and Ospreys this season. GS won the first match 3-0 in its home opener Sept. 1.
This match was originally scheduled for Sept. 12 but was postponed because of Hurricane Irma, one of four Georgia Southern contests affected by the storm. The Eagles have already made up one contest rescheduled because of the hurricane and will host Savannah State in another makeup contest Nov. 2.
GS leads the all-time series against North Florida 5-2, and the Eagles are 1-0 in Jacksonville.
Georgia Southern is in a stretch in which the Eagles play 10 of 12 on the road. GS plays four of its final five matches in Hanner Fieldhouse, starting Nov. 2, against Coastal Carolina.
GS split a pair of Sun Belt contests last week, topping Troy 3-1 and falling 3-0 to South Alabama.
Lauren Reichard notched 17 kills and 11 blocks in the two matches. She has 576 career kills and 310 blocks, and the junior ranks eighth on the school's career block list.
Cathrine Murray has 927 kills and is 49 away from cracking the top-10 on the school's career chart. The senior also has 731 digs and 104 blocks.
Classmate Anna Wenger has 675 career kills, and Megan Chevalier has 727.
The Eagles remain on the road this weekend as they make the Texas swing in league play. GS plays Texas State Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET and meets UTA Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
