GS will play Texas State at home on Sunday
STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to UL Lafayette tonight at Eagle Field. The Eagles defense held strong against a powerful Ragin' Cajun team and while the whole team came alive during the final third, two goals by UL Lafayette's Whitney Taggart and Yazmin Montoya was enough to lift the Ragin' Cajuns to a win over Georgia Southern. GS will play at home again on Sunday afternoon against Sun Belt opponent Texas State at 1 p.m.

WHAT HEAD COACH BRIAN DUNLEAVY SAID
"We fought to get back into it. I think the effort was there in the defensive third and the midfield third for all 90 minutes, but it wasn't until the last 20 minutes that we really put them under pressure and created a lot of chances," said head coach Brian Dunleavy. "Their goalkeeper came up big. I wish the intensity that we showed in the final third of the game was there for 90 minutes, but I'm proud of the effort this team showed in the first two thirds. Sunday we have to get in the box and score a goal. We had plenty of good services, but they were unanswered. We did a great job of building up our attack, but they just made more of their possession then we did."
