
Eagles Soar In Classroom – Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Distinction

Statesboro, Ga. – The Georgia Southern Swimming and Diving team, fresh off a 3rd place finish at the Coastal Carolina Swimming Association Conference Championship, is proving that they achieve at a high level in the classroom as well as in the pool.
The College Swimming Coaches Association of America has announced that Georgia Southern has earned the distinction of 2014 Fall CSCAA Scholar All-America Team.
"To be named a CSCAA Scholar All-America team is yet another outstanding achievement we've had this season," said Head Coach Nate Kellogg. "It is always one of our primary goals to be one of the top academic teams both in the country and among Georgia Southern's athletic department. I am incredibly proud of the sacrifice and diligent work our women have put in to earn this distinction."
The Fall Team Scholar All American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the fall semester.
The Eagles earned a cumulative 3.41 GPA for the fall semester, placing them 48th in the country for cumulative GPA among Division I Women's Swimming and Diving programs. All told, 149 programs earned the award at the Division I level.
In addition to the team award, Georgia Southern had 20 of its 25 student-athletes earn Coastal Carolina Swimming Association All-Academic Honors.
