Athens, Ga. --- The Georgia Southern dive team completed their season at the NCAA Zone B Qualifier this past week at the University of Georgia.
In the 1-Meter, Karlee Wells paced the three Eagles to qualify for Zones with her score of 236.60, good for 28th of the 45 divers who qualified. Abby Ounsworth and McKinlee Taulbee also produced good showings, with Ounsworth scoring a 204.10 to make the top-40, while Taulbee dove for a 192.00 to place 43rd.
In the 3-meter on Monday, Karlee Wells would be the only Eagle to qualify, and she made history that afternoon. With her 15th place finish, scoring a 296.20, she would become the first Eagle in program history to qualify for a Zones' event final. In that final, she would represent the program tremendously, totaling a score of 584.00 to finish 16th overall. Wells ends her Georgia Southern career as arguably the best diver in program history, holding all but one of the top-five scores all-time in both the 1M and 3M dives.
The Eagles swim team closes out their season with the CSCAA National Invitational Championship this weekend in Ocala, Fla. The meet is set for this upcoming Thursday (March 12th) and run unti, Saturday (March 14th).
