Chase Griffin tallied two hits in all three games against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats and started his senior season off by hitting .429 with two RBI and a double. Griffin scored twice and drove in a run in Saturday's 12-8 win over the Wildcats. The senior singled in the eighth inning and doubled in a run in the second inning in Sunday's 9-8 victory. Griffin closed out Friday's game with back-to-back hits.

Returning from Tommy John surgery that forced him to sit out the entire 2014 season, Evan Challenger earned the win in the season-opening 3-0 victory over NCAA Regional participant Bethune-Cookman. Challenger was perfect through four innings and had a no-hitter broken up with two outs in the fifth inning. He held the Wildcats to just two hits, allowed no walks and struck out six batters over 5.1 innings.
