• The game is the nightcap of a doubleheader with the Georgia Southern women's team, which faces Savannah State at 6 p.m. in Tiger Arena.
• Georgia Southern and Savannah State haven't met on the hardwood since Jan. 31, 2005, when Georgia Southern topped the Tigers 92-64 on the road. The teams met twice a season from 2001-05.
• Wednesday's contest will be the Eagles' fourth game in eight days.
• Georgia Southern has won its last two and is coming off a 104-52 victory over Bob Jones at home Monday night.
• Georgia Southern returns just four scholarship letterwinners from last season's 22-9 team that advanced to the Sun Belt Conference Championship game.
• With 11-of-12 scholarship student-athletes who are freshmen, redshirt freshmen or sophomores (92 percent), Georgia Southern has the highest percentage of underclassmen on its current roster of the 345 NCAA Division I squads. • Savannah State was picked 12th in the MEAC Preseason Poll, and Brian Pearson was selected third-team preseason all-league.
• Christopher Martin leads the Tigers in scoring with 13.4 points per game to go along with 4.4 rebounds a contest. Troyce Manassa averages 12.3 points an outing.
• The Tigers are 3-0 at home this season, which includes wins over Arkansas State and Campbell.

Eagles Sign Quan Jackson•
Mark Byington has announced that Quan Jackson (Tallahassee, Fla./Godby) has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Georgia Southern and compete for the Eagles.
• A 6-foot-3 guard, Jackson helped lead Godby to a state championship last season and averaged 16.5 points, four rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.3 assists a contest. He hit a 3-pointer late in the semifinal game to send it into overtime and was named MVP of the state tournament.
• Jackson was the Big Bend Conference Co-Player of the Year and first-team all-league. According to Source Hoops, he is the 18th-ranked prospect in the state of Florida, and he played AAU for Team Speights in the summer.
Boarding the Mothership• Twelve Georgia Southern games will be broadcast on the ESPN family of Networks this season.
• Games at No. 4 Duke (12/15) and Georgia State (2/23) will air on ESPN2.
• Seven Sun Belt contests will be broadcast live on ESPN3, and the Eagles' game at USC Upstate Nov. 27 was shown on ESPN3.
• The matchups at Ole Miss and Auburn were shown on the SEC Network +.
Next Up• Georgia Southern takes a 12-day break for exams before traveling to Durham, N.C., to take on No. 7/5 Duke Dec. 15, at 7 p.m.
