The Eagles pick up four out of six singles match victories

STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern women's tennis team made an impression at the first day of their home event, winning four out of six singles matches and two doubles first-round matches. Mariana Ranzahuer, Mary Phillips Smith, Francisca Norregaard and Shannon Wagner all pulled out singles victories to make it to the quarter finals in their respective draws.
Also competing in the tournament are Georgia State, SCAD, ETSU, Bethune-Cookman, Savannah State and Presbyterian. The Georgia Southern Invitational continues on Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m.
