
Mizell Named Preseason All-Conference by Sun Belt

STATESBORO, Ga. - Aaron Mizell was named to the 2015 Preseason All-Sun Belt Baseball team as the Georgia Southern Eagles were picked to finish sixth in the league.
The Eagles won the 2014 Southern Conference Tournament Championship and shut out #5 national seed Florida State in the Tallahassee Regional a year ago and will play their first season in the Sun Belt Conference in 2015.
Mizell hit .309 with 13 home runs and 53 RBI and was named an All-SoCon Second Team Outfielder and an All-SoCon Tournament Team selection. Mizell helped the Eagles to a SoCon Championship by hitting .384 with two home runs and nine runs scored in six tournament games.
The Eagles finished ahead of South Alabama, Georgia St. and Appalachian St in the poll. UL Lafayette received eight first place votes and was picked to win the conference in 2015. Texas St. and Arkansas St. rounded out the top three spots in the poll. GS also received two first place votes.
The Eagles open the season on February 13 against Bethune-Cookman and will host a 31-game slate at J.I. Clements Stadium this year including games against Georgia, Georgia Tech, West Virginia and Appalachian St. Season tickets are on sale now and can be ordered at gseagles.com/tickets.
