STATESBORO, Ga.- Georgia Southern swimming and diving faced Gardner-Webb Friday evening at the Aquatics Center. The Eagles swam competitively but fell short with a final score of 186 to Gardner-Webb's 200.
Because Georgia Southern competes against Gardner-Webb Saturday, January 26th as well, this meet had a unique format. The events occurred as followed:

2. 3 x 100 Back Relay
3. 3 x 100 Breast Relay
4. 4 x 200 Free Relay
5. 3-Meter Diving
6. 4 x 100 Medley Relay
7. 4 x 50 Free Relay
8. 3 x 100 Kick Relay
9. 1-Meter Diving
10. 4 x 100 IM Relay
11. 4 x 100 Free Relay
Eagles
Megan Heller,
Sarah Schwartz, and
Anna Battistello placed second in the 3 x 100 Fly Relay (2:58.66). In the 3 x 100 Back Relay,
Christina Moran,
Lauren Campbell, and
Elaina Lanson finished first (2:55.59). GSU claimed first again in the 3 x 100 Breaststroke Relay (3:15.74).

Amber Juncker, and
Rebecca Alves took first in the 4 x 200 Free Relay. Second place in the 4 x 100 Medley Relay (3:59.12) went to
Lauren Campbell,
Kristen Bates,
Sarah Schwartz, and
Rebecca Alves. In the 4 x 50 Free Relay
Christina Moran,
Devan White,
Megan Heller ,and
Elaina Lanson posted 1:37.07 to finish first. The Eagles placed second in the 4 x 100 IM Relay (4:07.44).

Emma Weisel scored 274.72 in the 3-meter dive. She also put up a score of 251.55 on the 1-meter dive.
The Eagles swim against Gardner-Webb and University of North Florida on Saturday, January 26th at the Aquatics Center. The seniors will be honored at noon, followed immediately by the meet. Saturday's meet is also a GATA game, which means all Georgia Southern student athletes will be there supporting the swimmers and divers.
