STATESBORO, Ga.- Georgia Southern swimming and diving hits the pool again for their last home meet of the season this Friday and Saturday, January 24th and 25th. Friday's meet against Gardner-Webb is scheduled for 6pm and Saturday's meet against Gardner-Webb and University of North Florida is set to start at noon.
"We are looking forward to hosting both Gardner-Webb and North Florida this weekend," said head coach Nathan Kellogg. "We are excited to honor our seniors on Saturday. It is always bitter-sweet. Our seniors have had a tremendous impact on our program and are fantastic people. We certainly want them to finish their last home meet on a good note."
Saturday's meet is a GATA game, which is designed so that fellow student-athletes and coaches are able to come support the Eagles. Be sure to wear your best GSU attire!
Last time out, GSU swimming and diving conquered the Radford University Highlanders. Senior Kristen Bates broke the pool-record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.46, and claimed two more first place finishes in the 200-yard individual medley (2:10.95) as well as the 200-yard medley relay (breaststroke, 28.97). The Eagles finished first, second, and third in every event of the meet.
