DAVIDSON, N.C. - Less than 48 hours after a come-from-behind road victory over Elon on Thursday night, Georgia Southern Men's Basketball returns to action on Saturday afternoon against Davidson from 3 p.m. inside Belk Arena. The game is a battle for first place in the Southern Conference South Division with both teams entering Saturday's contest at 3-0 in league play.

Georgia Southern (5-8, 3-0 SoCon) erased a 16-point second half deficit against the Phoenix to take the six-point victory. The Eagles won the game with clutch free throw shooting, making all eight attempts from the charity stripe in the final five minutes of the game and went 11-of-12 in the second half.
Sophomore Eric Ferguson (Statesboro, Ga.) scored a double-double against Elon with 21 points and a career high 14 rebounds. He also notched three steals on the night. Ben Drayton III (St. Marys, Ga.) scored 17 while Willie Powers III (Gainesville, Fla.) added 16 points in the game. The Eagles responded from a poor shooting first half (23.5% from the field) to shoot 59.3% in the final 20 minutes to outscore Elon 47-33 in the second half.
Davidson enters Saturday's game at 9-4 overall and 3-0 in league play. The Wildcats took a 92-63 victory over UNCG on Thursday night to open 2012. Nik Cochran scored 22 points in the game, but De'Mon Brooks leads the Davidson squad with 15.2 points per game.
The Eagles return home on Thursday, January 12th, against Samford. The game starts at 7:00 p.m. from Hanner Fieldhouse.
