Garrido Named to SoCon All-Freshman Team

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Paola Garrido (Vigo, Spain) has been named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman team, as announced today (April 19th) by the league office. The freshman maintained the No. 1 singles position for all of 2011, winning eight matches at the top of the lineup. Four of the wins came in conference play. Garrido recorded nine wins in doubles action, including a five-match winning streak at No. 1 doubles from March 12-21st.
Georgia Southern returns to action Wednesday, April 20th, in the first round of the 2011 SoCon Championships against Western Carolina at 10 a.m. The 2011 SoCon Championships take place at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.
