Baseball Postponed Due to Rain

STATESBORO, Ga. – With one out in the bottom of the eighth, The Citadel vs. Georgia Southern game two has been postponed due to rain in the area. The game will resume at point of suspension at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, with game three beginning at 2:30 p.m. as originally scheduled.
The Citadel currently leads the contest 7-2 in the bottom of the eighth. The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead with a pair of home runs in the second, but GS cut the score to 2-1 in the bottom of the frame. A pair of doubles pushed The Citadel back in the lead 3-1 before another solo shot extended the lead to 4-1. Bryan Altman handed the Bulldogs a 6-1 lead with a two-run home run in the sixth.
The conference foes traded runs in the seventh, leaving the score at 7-2 when the rain began to fall.
Senior day will take place on Saturday before the final home contest of the 2010 regular season. Fans can follow the action via live stats and live streaming at www.GeorgiaSouthernEagles.com. The game will be broadcast live on WPMX 102.9 FM.
