USC Upstate Doubleheader Cancelled for Sunday

STATESBORO, GA – Due to the threat of inclement weather for the outbounding teams, the Georgia Southern tennis doubleheader scheduled for Sunday, January 30 against USC Upstate for both the men and women has been cancelled. Rescheduling of the matches will be discussed between the teams later in the season.
Both Georgia Southern tennis teams have now had two consecutive matches cancelled due to inclement weather. The women have yet to take the court as this weekend was scheduled to be the season-opener for 2010. The Eagles resume play on the road traveling to Stetson, Friday, February 5 at noon and turnaround for a 1 p.m. match-up at Florida Atlantic University, Saturday, February 6.
The Georgia Southern men's tennis team (1-2) opened the 2010 season falling at No. 43 Georgia Tech and split a doubleheader in Florida against No. 13 Florida State and Florida Gulf Coast before shortening its trip with the cancellation of its Florida A&M match. The Eagles return to the court traveling back to Florida February 5-7. GS plays Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach, Friday, February 5 at 2 p.m., before traveling the short distance on I-4 to Orlando for two matches over the weekend. The Eagles take on Troy Saturday (Feb. 6) at 2 p.m. before closing out the trip with Central Florida (Feb. 7) at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
