In the win over Furman, Georgia Southern held off a late rally and pulled away for the win. Antonio Hanson (Fort Worth, TX/Independence CC) drained 5-of-10 from long distance, finishing with 17 points. Ben Drayton III (St. Marys/Camden County) added 12 points in the win as the Eagles forced 18 Paladin turnovers and 0-of-6 from long distance.

Overall, Hanson leads the scoring attack at 12.4 points per game. Drayton leads the SoCon shooting 47.5 percent from 3-point range and is ninth hitting 51 percent from the field.

Tyler Troupe (Gallatin, TN/Iowa Western CC) is averaging 8.4 points and team-leading 6.1 rebounds per game.

Furman is coming off a 74-66 loss at Elon on Monday night. The Paladins shot 42 percent from the field for the game and found themselves down 12 at halftime, however, they were still able to stage a second half comeback despite the Phoenix shooting 59 percent for the game. Bryson Barnes led the way with 16 points followed by Connor Nolte scoring 15 with a team-high six rebounds off the bench. Jordan Miller added 10 points and the Paladins committed only eight turnovers in the game.

Miller leads the way scoring 14 points per game with 24 steals. Furman ranks next to last in scoring (60.8 ppg) and next to last in field goal percentage defense (.476). Despite the statistical numbers Furman is riding a three-game winning streak at home. Last week Furman rallied from 18 down at home to defeat North-leading Chattanooga 72-70. In the first meeting with the Eagles Barnes scored a team-leading 13 points off the bench while Miller added 11.
