Tyler Hager was hired in August 2023 as the Assistant Manager in Equipment Operations. He came to Statesboro after two years as the Director of Football Equipment at Gardner-Webb University.
In his current role he assists with football equipment, including daily practice set up, equipment distribution, equipment fitting, student supervision, laundry services, recruiting, gameday setup and packing for away games. He oversees the day to day equipment needs of the men’s and women's tennis Teams. The men's team was the 2024 Sun Belt Conference regular season champions.
During his stint with Gardner-Webb University he oversaw all day to day equipment needs for football. He also transported the equipment to and from games. He was part of a total re-brand that included adding a second helmet to the team for the first time. He was part of the 2022 Big South Championship Team, with a playoff run. He earned a Masters of sport management during his time at Gardner-Webb University.
Prior to his time at Gardner-Webb University he spent three years at Division II powerhouse Wingate University. During his time at Wingate University he earned a Bachelors in sport management. He was the Head Equipment Manager while he was there as a student. During his stint at Wingate they made the DII National Championship Playoffs each year, he also helped them get to their first 10 win season in 2019.
Hager was with the Game-Day Guest Relations team for the Carolina Panthers for three years. He attended West Iredell High School, in Statesville, North Carolina, and married Elizabeth Rector-Hager on Jan. 1, 2024.
