Freshman (2011-12): Swam backstroke leg on 200 Medley Relay, which earned All-CCSA status at the 2012 CCSA Championships... Also swam lifetime best in the 100 Back (58.98)... Earned CCSA All-Academic for Fall 2011 semester.
Prep: Attended Oconee County High School... Earned varsity letters in Swimming, Cross Country and Track & Field... Presidential Award winner, Rookie of the Year and MVP selection... Honors Graduate... Swam for the Athens Bulldog Swim Club.
Personal: Full name is JoAnn Nikolay Filipov... Daughter of Angela and Nick Case... Born March 6, 1993, in Savannah, Ga... Has a sister named Gabriella... Most admires her parents and Marilyn Monroe... Biggest influence is her parents because "they came to America with nothing and now they have an amazing life that I am blessed to be a part of"... Most treasured possession is a box of small items that "are like a box of memories from family and friends"... Enjoys running, tennis and volleyball...
