Minjarez serves as an assistant coach for the Eagles baseball team and is entering his second year with the program. He arrives to Georgia Southern with intimate knowledge of the Sun Belt Conference thanks to his time at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Prior to arriving in Statesboro, Minjarez was at UT-Arlington for several years, both as a player and as a graduate manager for a year. During his time as a graduate manager, Minjarez assisted with the offense and primarily worked with infielders. He also coordinated offensive approaches with the hitting coach and created scouting reports on opponents.
From 2016 to 2021, Minjarez was a starter at shortstop for the Mavericks. He holds the school record for most games played (249) and at-bats (898), and also holds a spot in the top ten in several categories; he is fourth in homeruns (26), seventh in RBIs (133), eighth in doubles (41), and third in hits (246).
A native of San Angelo, Texas, Minjarez is the son of Stephanie and Jesse Minjarez, and has two brothers, Jordan and Jonah. He currently resides in Statesboro.
