Gave up just 83 hits and 31 walks while striking out 65 batters ... Ranked eighth in the Sun Belt Conference in ERA ... Named the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week on May 4 for going 2-0 with an 0.00 ERA in the Eagles' three-game Sun Belt series sweep of South Alabama ... Limited the Jaguars to just three hits and one walk, striking out five in the 2-0 shutout win over South Alabama on May 2 ... Hurled five innings of two-hit ball, striking out six in a 9-1 win on April 30 ... Made 12 straight appearances from April 10-May 7 where she did not give up more than one earned run ... Gave up just 60 hits and walked only six, while striking out 61 batters ... Ranked fourth in NCAA Division I in strikeout to walk ratio (10.17) and 10th in fewest walks given up per seven innings (0.63) ... Ranked seventh in the Sun Belt in ERA, opponent's batting average (.233) and fifth in total strikeouts ... Won her collegiate debut with five innings of three-hit, one-run ball, striking out five in Georgia Southern's 9-1 win over Rutgers on Feb. 8 ... Notched complete-game wins over Saint Joseph's (Feb. 14), Bethune-Cookman (Feb. 15) and at the College of Charleston (March 11) ... Hurled two innings of perfect relief to notch the win vs. Mercer on Feb. 12 ... Struck out a season-high 12 batters vs. Binghamton on Feb. 29 ... HIGH SCHOOL
A three-time District Pitcher of the Year and the 2019 All-Greater Houston Pitcher of the Year, Garcia struck out a school-record 199 batters as a junior for the Wildcats in 2018, then shattered that with 279 strikeouts in 2019, leading Angleton HS to the 5A State Championship ... Went 30-2 in the circle as a senior and also hit .447 with 14 doubles, 65 RBI and a .748 slugging percentage ... Named the Brazoria County Pitcher of the Year in 2017 and 2018 while also earning All-County Academic honors ... Also played basketball and volleyball at AHS ... Played club ball for Aces Express Gold coached by David McCorkle.
