Chanticleers Take Down Eagles in Seven Innings, 14-4

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first batter of the game saw Coastal mash a line drive right back at Will Holder on the mound. Fortunately, he was able to snag it out of the air before getting out of the inning by stranding two Chanticleers on.
- The next two frames saw 1-2-3 innings, with each pitcher grabbing their first strikeouts of the day.
- In the Eagles' second, Bryson Trammell slammed a leadoff homer that just eclipsed the right-center wall to give Southern the 1-0 lead.
- In Coastal's fourth, they put up a four-spot by starting the frame with a double a two-run homer by Winer. Later in the frame, a hit batter and a single and double in consecutive batters led to two more coming home, giving Coastal a 4-1 lead.
- Despite Jaime's one-out double, the Eagles could not muster another run in their fourth.
- In Coastal's fifth, an RBI-double from Winer gave him another RBI before he later scored due to an Eagle error, making it 6-1 midway through.
- Southern clawed back the following frame as back-to-back singles from Grant Jordan and Bennett Edwards, followed by a walk, loaded the bags with one away. Southern got three runs across with Trammell's RBI-flare single and a two-RBI single through the infield from Sean White, making it just 6-4.
- The next two innings for the Chanticleers saw them score eight unanswered, with only four of them being earned runs.They scored three in the sixth off of four hits and five runs before the stretch on just one hit. The Eagles recorded one error while hitting three batters en route to a run-rule finish in seven innings.
NOTES:
- Trammell's homer in the second was not only his fifth of the season, but was also his 100th career RBI.
- Brady Christman extended his hitting streak to now 17 with his single in the Eagles third, approaching the most by an Eagle in ten years.
- Jaime had another multi-hit game, his second mult-hit outing in now his four-game hitting streak.
