Georgia Southern finishes its Western road swing on Friday at Louisiana
The 'Jacks improved to 6-7 on the year with the victory, while Georgia Southern falls to 7-8 in the first meeting between the two programs. The Eagles will wrap up its two-match Western swing on Friday, playing at Louisiana in a Noon match from Lafayette, La.
Stephen F. Austin collected the doubles point from the Eagles with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Franzi Heinemann and Nanaka Kijima were able to claim a 6-3 win for the Eagles at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, the Eagles won the first set in five of six matches. Kijima earned a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles to even the match up at 1-all. SFA picked up a straight-set singles win at No. 2 singles, but Evelyn Warkentin earned a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles to make the score 2-2. The 'Jacks then won three-set matches at No. 4 and No. 5 singles to earn the victory.
