Coastal Carolina Claims 4-2 Win Over GS Women's Tennis

Eagles return to action on Friday, hosting Arkansas State at Wallis
CONWAY, S.C. - Coastal Carolina earned a 4-2 Sun Belt Conference women's tennis victory over visiting Georgia Southern on Saturday morning in Conway, S.C.
The Chanticleers improved to 7-2 overall and 1-0 in the Sun Belt with the victory, while Georgia Southern fell to 6-7 overall and 0-3 in the league with the loss. The Eagles will stay in Sun Belt action next, hosting Arkansas State on Friday, March 20, in a 1:30 p.m. contest at Wallis.
Coastal Carolina took the doubles point by winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. The Eagles did get a 6-3 win from Franzi Heinemann and Nanaka Kijiima at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, the Eagles quickly tied things up with Evelyn Warkentin's 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles. But the Chanticleers took a 3-1 lead with straight-set singles wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles.
Amelie Rosadoro drew the Eagles back within one with a 7-6 (5), 6-2 win at No. 5 singles, but the Chanticleers would clinch the match with a three-set win at No. 4 singles.
