McCoy Claims Player of the Week Honors After 10 RBI Weekend

New Orleans, La. — Georgia Southern senior James McCoy has won the Sun Belt Player of the Week for efforts on Saturday and Sunday against Tennessee Tech, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon (March 10th).
McCoy would end his week with back-to-back four-hit, five RBI contests against Tennessee Tech on Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, he would go a perfect 4-4 with a double and two home runs. His first homer of the day was a three-RBI shot that was the furthest ever hit at J.I. Clements Stadium, a whopping 485 feet, en route to an 11-6 win to claim the series.
On the week, he would hit .470 at the dish with eight hits, ten RBIs, two doubles and three home runs. He also would become the first Eagle in four years with consecutive four-hit and five-RBI games since the 2022 season. The Kentucky transfer has noe exploded for a team-best .340 AVG and .585 SLG.
McCoy and the Eagles prepare now for the game this evening against no. 11 Clemson at 6:30 PM at SRP Park.
