HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After giving up a two-out walk in the first, Jansen Kenty would expose a big lead from the Bulldogs' Sam Dansky for their first pick-off of the year.
- The Eagles threatened off a leadoff walk from Brady Christman in the second, who would later be moved to third off of a Mason Gazaway single. However, a strikeout would eliminate the threat.
- The Citadel had a runner on third early in the next frame via a leadoff double, followed by a deep fly ball. A single up the middle from Garrett Fulmer would get the game's first run across.
- In the Bulldogs' third, a successful sac-bunt with two runners on, followed by a walk, would juice the bases for The Citadel. Another run would come across via a sac-fly before TJ Anderson cleared them with a homer, making it 5-0.
- The Eagles struck the scoreboard in the fifth as after a leadoff walk and stolen base from James McCoy, Sean White singled back up the middle for his sixth RBI of 2026.
- A triple from The Bulldogs' Barbrey set up an eventual two-run inning for The Citadel, extending their lead to 7-1.
- After the fifth, both offenses remained quiet, with all eight runs coming in the opening four frames of the game.
- Despite loading the bases in the eighth, Thomas Burke worked out of a jam to not surrender a run.
