Kishyah Anderson Earns Second SBC Player Of The Week Honors

Senior is named the league's Player of the Week for scoring season-high 31 points on Wednesday in win over Southern Miss
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern senior Kishyah Anderson has been named the Sun Belt Conference's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for a second time this season, announced Tuesday by league officials.
Anderson scored a season-high 31 points in the Eagles' 70-67 win over Southern Miss on January 28, the only game of the week for Georgia Southern. She hit 14-of-22 shots from the floor, including 2-of-3 from three-point range, and her 14 field goals made is tied for fourth-most in a single game in school history. The Phoenix, Ariz., native also had five rebounds and three assists - none bigger than the pass to Kayla Cleaveland for her game-winning three-point shot with 6.5 seconds remaining on the clock.
This is the second weekly honor from the Sun Belt for Anderson, who was previously named the league's Player of the Week on January 13. She is only the third Eagle to earn multiple Sun Belt Player of the Week honors in the same season, joining Alexis Brown (2018-19) and Terren Ward (2022-23, 2023-24).
Anderson and the Eagles return to action on Wednesday, visiting Texas State for an 8 p.m. Sun Belt Conference contest from San Marcos, Texas.
