Senior notched a pair of double-doubles in the Eagles' two wins last week
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern women's basketball senior Kishyah Anderson has earned her third Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week honor, announced today by league officials.
Anderson tallied a pair of double-doubles for the Eagles last week as Georgia Southern moved into a tie atop the Sun Belt standings. She delivered 21 points, 11 rebounds and a season-high six blocked shots in Wednesday's 69-60 win over Arkansas State. The Phoenix, Ariz., native then followed that up with 23 points and 10 rebounds in a 67-56 win over Coastal Carolina on Saturday. It was her first two double-doubles of the season for the Eagles, and Anderson shot 59.2% from the floor and hit all four of her three-point shots on the week.
This is the third Sun Belt weekly honor for Anderson, tying her for the most in the league with Marshall's Timaya Lewis-Eutsey. She joins Terren Ward (2023-24, Sun Belt) and Sharon Mitchell (1997-98, SoCon) as the only Georgia Southern women's basketball players to earn weekly conference honors three times in the same season.
Georgia Southern returns to the court on Thursday, hosting Marshall in a 6 p.m. Sun Belt contest from the Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center. It is the Eagles' annual Play4Kay pink game as Georgia Southern helps raise awareness and money for breast cancer research. To help the cause please visit GSEagles.com/Play4Kay to donate.
