Liv Fuller Named To 2026 Kay Yow Servant Leader Class

Junior forward honored for exemplifying the spirit of the Hall of Fame collegiate coach who lost her battle with breast cancer

STATESBORO - Georgia Southern women's basketball junior forward Liv Fuller has been recognized as an award winner for the 2026 Kay Yow Servant Leader Class, announced by the team today.

The Kay Yow Servant Leader Award honors the legacy of Hall of Fame and Olympic gold medal coach kay Yow, who endured a 22-year on-again, off-again battle with breast cancer. Annually, women's collegiate basketball teams sponsor games under the Play4Kay moniker to help raise awareness for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund specifically and breast cancer awareness generally.

Members of the Kay Yow Servant Leader Class are nominated by their head coaches because they exemplify Coach Yow's spirit and reflect her resolve, grace, generosity and servant's heart both on and off the court. They receive public acknowledgement of their accomplishment and are also recognized by a patch they wear on their uniform for the 2025-26 season.

A junior from Clearwater, Fla., Fuller is the longest-tenured member of the Georgia Southern women's basketball team and is a two-time Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll honoree. On February 26 of last season, she hit the game-winning layup at the buzzer to defeat App State, 57-55, giving the Eagles an important Sun Belt Conference win over their rivals.
