Box Score ROME, Ga. - The No. 73-ranked Georgia Southern men's tennis picked up a 4-0 victory over Georgia State in Sun Belt Conference men's tennis action on Sunday at the Rome Tennis Center.
The Eagles improved to 15-6 overall and 6-1 in the Sun Belt, while Georgia State falls to 5-13 overall and 2-4 in the league. Georgia Southern will conclude the 2025 regular season on Sunday, April 13, visiting Coastal Carolina for a 10 a.m. matchup against the Chanticleers.
The match, originally scheduled to be played at Georgia State, was moved to the indoor facility at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Ga., which is also the site of the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Tennis Championships, due to the rain forecast in Atlanta.
Georgia Southern earned the doubles point from the Panthers thanks to a 7-5 win by Pol del Castillo and Aaron Williams over Edward Tymes and McKane Johnson at No. 2 doubles, as well as a 6-2 win by Pierre Mouesca and Matthew Mitchell at No. 3 doubles.
The Eagles then took the match with three straight-set singles wins. Aaron James Williams defeated Gabriele Datei, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 3 singles, while Mouesca notched a 6-2, 6-0 win over Aryan Jit Singh at No. 4 singles. Laurent James Calac notched a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles for the Eagles as well.
