Shatalya Dorsett Represents Bahamas in 2025 Carifta Games

Sophomore medaled in two events, finished top 5 in another
STATESBORO– Track & field sophomore Shatalya Dorsett spent Easter weekend representing the Bahamas in the 2025 Carifta Games in Trinidad and Tobago, competing in sprints and relays for her country.
Dorsett kicked off her weekend performance by advancing to the U20 100m dash finals after finishing with the second-fastest time, clocking an 11.50. Not to be outdone, she earned a bronze medal in the finals later that night with a time of 11.45.
In the 200m, Dorsett ran a 23.31 mark to advance to the finals again, finishing just behind Georgia athlete and Trinidad & Tobago olympian Sole Frederick. She capped that off with a fourth-place finish in the finals with a run of 23.45.
Finally, she was a part of the Bahamas' 4x100m relay team that took home the silver medal in the event.
Dorsett will return stateside for Georgia Southern and compete in the 4x100m and 100m events at the Penn Relays this weekend.
