
Eagles Rewrite Record Book at Legends of Alachua County Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Georgia Southern women's distance group delivered a historic showing Saturday at the Legends of Alachua County Invitational, hosted in Gainesville on Jan. 31, as multiple Eagles etched their names into the program record book in the indoor 5,000 meters.
Newcomer Jessie Schroeder continued her standout start in a Georgia Southern uniform, posting a time of 17:36.90 in the 5K to rank third all-time in program history.
Freshman Elizabeth Stamey also made history in her indoor 5K debut, clocking 18:02.33 to move into fourth on the Eagles' all-time list.
Freshman Hannah Douglas added to the depth of the distance group with a strong performance of 18:19.51, earning a top-10 finish, narrowly missing fifth due to the historic marks set by her teammates.
Veteran Tristen Crosby rounded out the record-setting efforts, placing 11th while setting a new personal best of 18:25.94 in the event.
Additionally, Cameron Belcher, Lauren Voutour, Katie Casto and Ava Schmitt each made their indoor 5K debut, turning in solid performances as the Eagles continued to build momentum early in the indoor season.
