STATESBORO - Georgia Southern women's tennis wrapped up the 2025 season on Saturday, taking No. 43 Old Dominion deep into singles play before falling to the Monarchs, 4-1, on Saturday at the Wallis Tennis Center.
The Eagles finish up the season with an 11-10 record, while Old Dominion improves to 16-4 on the year.
Old Dominion captured the doubles point by taking matches at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
In singles, the Eagles and the Monarchs each took three first sets. Old Dominion would take straight-set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles to build a 3-0 lead, but Mackenzlie Leopold would get the Eagles on the board with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Victoria Matasova at No. 4 singles.
The No. 2 and No. 5 singles matches were into their third sets when the match ended at No. 6 singles due to an injury, forcing a retirement by the Eagles.
