Four Eagles Earn 2025 All-Sun Belt Conference Men's Tennis Honors

Three named to the All-Conference singles squad, while two duos earn doubles honors

STATESBORO - Four Georgia Southern men's tennis student-athletes were recognized by the Sun Belt with Thursday's release of the 2025 All-Conference awards.

Three Eagles earned All-Conference singles honors, led by senior Dimitris Paliouras earning first team honors for a second consecutive season. The Thessaloniki, Greece, native earned a career-high No. 84 ranking by the ITA during the season and went 19-9 overall in singles action this season. He was 10-6 during the Spring, all while playing the No. 1 singles position for the Eagles. He joins senior teammate Pol del Castillo (2023, 2024) as the only Eagles to earn first team singles accolades in back-to-back seasons from the Sun Belt Conference.

Castillo, meanwhile, earns second team All-Conference singles honors, capping a fantastic career for Georgia Southern that has seen the Tarragona, Spain, native be recognized in all four years by the league. Castillo is 15-12 overall in singles play this season, including a 10-5 mark during the Spring. The 2022 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year, Castillo is the first three-time All-Conference singles honoree for Georgia Southern since Vincent Patry was a three-time All-SoCon singles honoree from 2003-06.

Junior Aaron James Williams earns second team All-Conference singles honors for a second consecutive season, going 21-10 overall and 13-6 in the Spring for the Eagles. The Dusseldorf, Germany, native was an unbeaten 6-0 in Sun Belt singles action this season and heads into the conference tournament riding a six-match singles winning streak.

Williams and senior Laurent Julia Calac were named first team All-Sun Belt Conference doubles honorees by the league, the first conference doubles honors for both players. The duo went 15-6 this season, including a 13-4 mark in the Spring and a 4-2 mark in the Sun Belt. The pair won 11 matches in a row from Jan. 20 through March 16 and also picked up doubles wins over teams from Florida and Ole Miss.

Castillo and Paliouras earned second team All-Conference doubles honors for a second straight season to round out the Eagles' honorees in 2025. The duo earned a No. 54 ITA national ranking in the Fall and went 8-5 overall in doubles action, with wins over Ole Miss, South Alabama, CCU and Georgia State highlighting their dual match results.

The Eagles will begin action in the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Championships on Friday as the No. 2 seed, facing seventh-seeded Georgia State in a 2 p.m. quarterfinal matchup at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Ga.
