STATESBORO– The Georgia Southern track & field team earned a team win during the Georgia Showdown, wrapping up the second of two home meets during the outdoor season.
The Eagles honored their seniors before the meet -
Ansley Fullen,
Imani Moore,
Melanie Tribick,
Mya Turner and
Ella Zierdt.
The Eagles earned a team win at the event by scoring 224 points.
Moore showed out in her final meet at home, finishing second in the record books in the triple jump with a mark of 12.65m - breaking her previous personal record of 12.60m. She also continued her strong stretch in the long jump with a mark of 6.34m / 20'9.50", winning both events and breaking the Georgia Southern long jump facility record set in 2006.
Shatalya Dorsett tied the sixth-fastest time in the 100m in program history, posting a mark of 11.75.
Emily Wheldon added the fifth-fastest time in the 1,500m, running to a time of 4:41.61 and breaking her previous personal best time of 4:43.55.
Julia Wilson ran the eighth-fastest time in school history in the 10K, finishing with a time of 40:46.46, winning that respective event.
Tristen Crosby's time of 18:40.82 in the 5K also placed her eighth in the record books.
