Eagles move to 23-14 overall
ATLANTA – Georgia Southern softball dropped its midweek matchup against Georgia Tech, 1-0, on Wednesday Night at Mewborn Field.
Georgia Southern (23-14, 7-2 SBC) put a pair of runners in scoring position in the third as Madi Gillespie recorded a double and Kayla Christensen singled to reach base but a foul out ended the threat. The Eagles out hit the Yellow Jackets 4-3 and left three runners on base.
Georgia Tech (22-14, 7-5) broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the sixth on a two-out RBI single back up the middle to plate the lone run of the game, making the final 1-0.
Maddie Johnson (11-6) suffered the loss in the circle tossing six complete innings allowing one run on three hits and fanned four batters.
The Eagles scattered four hits in the contest. Christensen extended her reached base streak to 24 games.

The Eagles are scheduled for a three-game series against Coastal Carolina at Beautiful Eagle Field beginning on Friday. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
