Softball Drops Hail Southern Classic Finale Against Rider, 3-0.

Eagles move to 14-10 on the season
STATESBORO – Georgia Southern softball dropped its Hail Southern Classic finale against Rider, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at Beautiful Eagle Field.
The game entered into a delay in the bottom of the seventh as the Eagles looked to rally with a runner on second base and no outs. After an hour-long delay, the game was called due to weather and field conditions.
The Eagle offense tallied just two hits on the contest compared to the Broncs six and left seven runners on base. Valerie Combs and Gracie Bellard tallied the pair of hits.
Rider got on the board in the fourth after back-to-back doubles to take a 1-0 lead. The Bronc would extend its lead in the fifth plating two more runs on a trio of hits for the final, 3-0.
Georgia Southern looked to score in the sixth inning loading the bases on a hit by pitch and a pair of walks but a groundout ended the scoring opportunity.

The Eagles return to midweek action facing #14 Georgia on Wednesday, March 12 at Jack Turner Softball Stadium. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. and is set to be broadcast on SECN+.
