NORFOLK, Va. - No. 59-ranked Old Dominion men's tennis picked up a 4-1 win over No. 74-ranked Georgia Southern on Saturday in Norfolk, Va., in a clash of nationally-ranked Sun Belt Conference teams.

The Monarchs improved to 9-7 overall and 2-0 in the league with the victory, while Georgia Southern falls to 11-6 overall and 2-1 in the league. The Eagles wrap up their weekend of action on Sunday, facing James Madison in a 1 p.m. Sun Belt contest from Harrisonburg, Va.

Old Dominion earned the doubles point by picking up 6-3 wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.

The Eagles won the first set in four of six singles matches, but the Monarchs extended their lead to 2-0 with a straight-set win at No. 6 singles. Piere Mouesca made the score 2-1 with his 6-4, 7-5 win over Jean-Karim Olivier de Sardan at No. 4 singles. Old Dominion then clinched the match with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.
