Eagles to play five games
STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern softball team is back on the road at the Charge on Classic hosted by UCF at the UCF Softball Complex in Orlando, Fla. The field includes host UCF, George Mason, North Florida and Providence.
The Eagles open the Charge on Classic with two games slated for Friday with game one against George Mason beginning at 9 a.m. followed by North Florida at 11:30 a.m. The Eagles will face George Mason again on Saturday followed by Providence at 11:30 a.m. Southern wraps up play on Sunday at noon against host UCF. All games are scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN+ and live stats are available at GSEagles.com/SBStats.

The Eagles went undefeated on the weekend hosting the GATA Challenge at Beautiful Eagle Field before falling to Mercer, 4-2 in midweek action. . Georgia Southern walked off Campbell in game one as Delanie Thames launched a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to give the Eagles the 5-3 win. Georgia Southern would again need a walk off in its second game against Campbell on Saturday as Kyla Maxwell recorded an RBI double to score Kayla Christensen in the ninth inning. In between the two games, the Eagles picked up wins against Fairfield, 7-1, and Oakland, 6-2. In midweek action, the Eagles dropped its matchup against Mercer, 4-2, as a two-run home run lifted the Bears over Southern.
