Eagles Continue Community Initiative With Feed The Boro Saturday

Georgia Southern coaches, staff and student-athletes will help give back to the Statesboro community, handing out meals

STATESBORO - Georgia Southern student-athletes, coaches and staff from multiple sports will give back to the Statesboro community on Saturday, February 15, participating in the Feed the Boro event at Statesboro High School.

The event helps distribute meals to residents in Bulloch County, and the goal for Saturday is to hand out 500 meals throughout the morning. The event runs from 8-10 a.m. Volunteers are asked to arrive between 7 and 7:30 a.m.

"We are always happy to continue our partnership with Feed the Boro," Senior Associate AD for Student-Athlete Development Gleen Hart said. "Our commitment to servant leadership helps us give back to the community that so graciously supports our student-athletes year after year."

Community service projects such as Feed the Boro help further the mission of the APEX program, which is a commitment to the holistic growth of all Georgia Southern student-athletes based on four pillars: life skills, leadership development, career growth and community engagement.
