STATESBORO – Georgia Southern Athletics will host its second annual Day of Service on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, continuing its commitment to community engagement across the Statesboro area.

The event invites all student-athletes, coaches, and athletics staff to participate in a day dedicated to giving back. A sign-up sheet is now live and open, allowing volunteers to select from a variety of service opportunities throughout the community.

On April 1, volunteers will be assigned to one of seven locations across Statesboro, serving in approximately one-hour time slots between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Participating sites include Julia P. Elementary, Langston Chapel Elementary, Habitat for Humanity, the Food Bank, Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful, the Book Bus, and Willow Pond Senior Care.

The Day of Service provides an opportunity for Georgia Southern Athletics to make a meaningful impact while strengthening connections within the local community. From supporting local schools to assisting nonprofit organizations and senior care facilities, volunteers will play a key role in a wide range of service efforts.

All Georgia Southern Athletics personnel are encouraged to participate as schedules allow and join in making a positive difference throughout Statesboro.
