Kirsten Barrett, Reagan Barth earn first-team honors, while Alex Myers is named to the second team and Maddie Cugino is named to the third team

STATESBORO - Georgia Southern volleyball placed four players on the 2025 Sun Belt All-Conference Volleyball Team, announced on Wednesday by league officials.

Senior setter Kirsten Barrett and junior outside hitter Reagan Barth were named to the first team, while freshman middle blocker Alex Myers was named ot the second team. Sophomore libero Maddie Cugino rounds out the Eagle honorees, earning a spot on the third team.

The four All-Conference honorees are the most in a single season for Georgia Southern volleyball team in program history. Several times previously, the Eagles have had three All-Conference Team honorees, most recently 2013 when Georgia Southern was still in the SoCon.

Barth earns All-Sun Belt Conference honors for a third consecutive season as she paced the Eagles offensively in 2025, leading the team and ranking second in the Sun Belt Conference in total kills (442) while ranking third in kills per set (4.38) and points per set (4.92). She registered double digit kills in every Sun Belt Conference match and had 23 matches with double digit kills overall. Her season-high 37 kills against Louisiana on November 14 was one shy of the GS record and ranked as one of the top all-time Sun Belt single-game performances. She was the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week on November 4 and she hit .300 or better 11 times. Barth currently ranks 11th in NCAA Division I in attacks per set (12.12), 33rd in kills per set and 33rd points per set. Her numbers in Sun Belt only matches are even better, averaging 4.64 kills per set and 5.11 points per set, both ranking second in the league. She is the first three-time All-Conference performer for Georgia Southern volleyball since Kate Van Dyke in 2010-12.

Barrett earns first team All-Sun Belt honors after being named to the second team in 2024. She has fashioned one of the best seasons ever by a Georgia Southern setter, tallying 1,005 assists and averaging 10.15 assists per set. Both numbers lead all Sun Belt Conference players and her 10.15 assists per set ranks 34th in NCAA Division I. Six times this season, she has been named the Sun Belt Setter of the Week, one of only four players nationally to earn conference setter of the week honors six times. Barrett has 14 double-doubles in assists & digs, including seven out of her last eight matches, and she has notched 40 or more assists 15 times this season. She reached her career high of 54 assists twice this season, against Marshall on 10/3 and against Louisiana on 11/14. In nine matches this season, she's led Georgia Southern to a .275 hitting percentage or better, with a season-high .443 hitting percentage on Sept. 2 vs. The Citadel. Her assist numbers in Sun Belt matches are even better, averaging a league-leading 10.27 assists per set.

Alex Myers earns second team All-Sun Belt honors after enjoying a standout debut season for the Eagles as the freshman middle blocker leads the Sun Belt Conference in hitting percentage in Sun Belt-only matches at .378. Overall, Myers is hitting .355 with 180 kills and 78 blocks, averaging 1.89 kills and 0.82 blocks per set. She has notched double digit kills in eight matches this season and has notched five or more blocks five times. Myers was named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week on October 21, for helping the Eagles sweep App State, including serving out Georgia Southern's last four points in a 16-14 fifth-set win in which GS trailed 14-11. Nine times this season she has hit .400 or better in a match and she put up one of the best freshman performances in school history on Sept. 25 as she went 10-0/13, hitting .769 at Old Dominion.

Cugino earns third-team honors in her first season with the Eagles, where has been one of the top liberos not only in the league but in the nation as well. Her 4.76 digs per set average ranks second in the league and 27th in NCAA Division I. She has notched double digit digs in 24 of 27 matches played this season and nine times Cugino has surpassed 20 digs in a match. On Oct. 10, her 36 digs at Troy in a four-set match was tied for the third-most in the nation in a four setter and represented a career high for Cugino. She was named the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 2 for averaging 5.55 digs per set in a pair of season-opening wins for the Eagles. Cugino has also contributed 98 assists and 17 service aces on the season.
